It’s spring equinox and I’ve made a floral watercolour and ink artwork, inspired by Harry Clarke’s stained glass. You can see it below, 12”x16” on Arches Watercolour paper. I don’t often sell paintings on paper but this one is available for a special reason.
This week I was reminded again about the fragility of life, and just how important health is when I learnt about a South African artist, Vusi Beauchamp, who is in urgent need of heart surgery. To help raise funds for the operation, an exhibition of paintings will be held next month at Aspire Art in Johannesburg. I was asked to contribute an artwork, but it isn’t practical for me to send one over. Instead I’m putting this painting up for sale in a blind auction, bidding starts at £100. Brighten up a room with these vibrant blooms, and help a very worthy cause.
If you’d like to make a bid, please email it to me, este@estemacleod.com is the address. The painting will go to the highest bidder who I’ll notify next Monday. Bidding closes Sunday 24 March at midnight PST.
All proceeds will go towards the surgery and I’ll cover postage and packing costs to get the artwork to the winning bidder.
The colour mixing and creating process follows for paid subsribers to Coloricombo.
