Mixing Forest Green, Saffron, Dusty Pink & Sea Foam + a timelapse artwork
Colour Mixing & Artwork from Week 21
The colour prompt from Week 21 consists of the colours Forest Green, Saffron, Dusty Pink & Sea Foam all taken from a painting by the Chinese artist Qi Baishi.
Golden Paint’s QoR watercolours and Schmincke’s Horadam Titanium gouache are used in the demo. I’m a Golden Artist Educator and love the vibrant intensity they have, ideal for mixing with white gouache to create opaque mixes.
In the video demo that follows for paid subscribers, I painted the simple floral design design below using the mixed colours. I’ll also show you how I used a triangle brush, a dagger brush and an Inktense pencil in Iron Green.
If you’re a paid subscriber (thank you!) you’ll be able to watch the video demo below. If you’re considering becoming a paid subscriber, your contribution helps cover the time I put into Coloricombo. I’ve been releasing these colour prompts weekly for almost two and a half years and although they’re great fun for me to do, they do take up quite a bit of my time from research and colour choice to these mixing, artwork and material demos.
It only costs $8 per month or $80 per year, that’s less than $2 per weekly post!
