I am playing catchup with the colour mixing demos linked to the weekly prompts. We are currently on holiday with my family on the beautiful Dalmatian coast of Croatia, a beautiful place to be for inspiration and a bit of time out.
QoR Mini Urban Sketch
Here’s an extra demo of the QoR Mini Urban Sketch half pan set of colours that I’ve used to mix colours for Weeks 22 to 24. I’m giving away one of these sets, details will shared in tomorrow’s prompt and on my Instagram account. It’s the perfect size for travelling and sketching on the go and the colours are also really versatile as I’ll demonstrate.
In the short video below, I’ve used the six QoR colours from the set to create a wider spectrum of colours. You’ll find Benzimidazolone Yellow, Quinacridone Red, Cobalt Blue, Cobalt Teal, Van Dyke Brown and Payne’s Grey.
Take a look at the vibrant green, orange, bright red and purple mixes that are possible when combining these colours.
Mixing Demo
The Urban Sketch watercolour set was used to mix Week 23’s colours. I also used QoR’s Sap green paint as an alternative to green mix of Cobalt Teal and Benz Yellow - I am biased when it comes to green, but it’s a must have colour if you love vibrant yet translucent greens. I use this colour very often in my work as both watercolour and acrylic paint.
This demo is viewable by all.
Artwork Demo
The artwork demo this week is available for paid subscribers. Again, there’s no voiceover in this video, just the soothing lapping of the Adriatic sea shore.
