Phew, this post means I’m now up to date with colour mixing. Over June my sister and her husband visited us and we took them to Croatia so I had to catch up on my own colour prompts.
I’ve posted the previous two weeks demos on Substack, find Week 24 here and Week 25 here.
For Week 26 I’ve mixed the four colours taken from the Ladybird Books dragonfly painting by John Leigh-Pemberton: Mint, Arsenic, Butterscotch & Deep Brown.
I had a bit more time and felt inspired to carry on with tints of greens, expanding on Mint and Arsenic.
You can see both mixing sessions (the four colours followed by the green tints) here.
In addition to the colour mixing, I painted four butterflies using the Week 26’s colours.
Have a look at how the wings were started using question mark forms, a variation of the techniques I teach in my courses using the Creative Leap Method™.
These butterflies and other mini-beasts painted during the Insect-themed month of June will be used as components for surface pattern designs.
All my mini-courses are discounted by 25% until the end of July. Stay inspired, all courses have one year’s access from the day of registration.
